responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
following recipes accurately and maintaining food preparation processes as outlined by chef.
completing daily food preparation assignments accurately, neatly, and in a timely fashion.
preparing food throughout the day as needed, anticipating and reacting to customer volume.
maintaining appropriate portion control.
maintaining proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards while preparing and cooking food
consistently and accurately using prep sheets and checklists
following sanitation standards including washing cookware and utensils and maintaining a neat workspace throughout the day
cleaning equipment, as assigned, thoroughly and in a timely fashion according to sanitation guideline
1 year related experience.
comfortable working in a busy/high volume environment
passionate about food and hospitality.
high school diploma or ged, culinary school is a plus!
flexible schedule, ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
ability to speak, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
must be very reliable, dependable, organized and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
nyc food safety handlers certificate is a plus.
have the ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times and display a positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments
have the ability to develop positive working relationships with all restaurant employees and work as part of a team by helping others as needed or requested
be able to exhibit a cheerful and helpful attitude.
have a sense of urgency when service levels demand it.
have the ability to demonstrate a complete understanding of the menu
have the ability to be cross-trained in all areas of the kitchen and line
capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
lift up to 50 pounds of weight
ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb up and down stairs, walk, carry multiple objects
